I Saved A Man's Life Today.
I know think I know why I was sick and in need of fresh air. I was curled up on the couch, a hot cup of Earl grey and a book. I wasn't able to keep any food down today and I puked once at Summer school and once on my way home. I stopped at my friends house, Erika, and had a cup of Chocolate milk and some tylenol for my cramps. I didn't keep those down very long. So, about noon, I get home and I instantly get in the shower. I figure, a hot bath will make me feel much better. And it did. When I was dressed and done running around for mom to getthe mail, I curled up on the couch and started to read. Discovery channle was playing 'A Haunting' while I was reading. Not more than five minutes later, while mom is in her room, do I hear a man cry out. I waited only a fraction of a second because I thought it was a frusterated cry. But no, I walked out and he was falling over. I ran to my mom and said that someone just cried out and fell over. I looked out again and he was having a seizure. Mom ran downstairs instantly while calling 911. I was freaking out. I didn't know what to do. Mom started to yell, and she is loud. But no one heard her. Every one in the apartment area had their windows shut and the A.C. on. He was bleeding from a gash in his head and Mom told me to get towles. I ran to the bathroom and snagged one of our older towel and tore downstairs to them. She turned him onto his back and told me to place the towel under him. He had chew driping down his face and he wasn't moving. The only sign that he was alive was his breathing and his arm that was firmly attatched to my mom's shoulder. At first, the Ambulance bypassed us but when it came, I was shaking. I was crying in fear and greatfullness that some how, I heard him. It does get hot in MN and the fact that everyone but us had shut themselves up in their house's told me that none of these people think that something bad will happen to them. I never expected to wake up today, so sick to my gut. But If I hadn't been sick, I would have gathered my stuff and went out with my friend. That man most likely would have died. It's funny when I think about it. Now that this is over. I feel absolutly fine. Dan, I pray that you're okay and don't suffer anything long lasting from this. And I hope you and your wife can live longer years. I'm no angel, but I'm happy that I happened to be there for you today. My mother also.
