"This is a short recollection of my past jobs. A request by a friend of mine."
"We shall begin with that age old question What do you want to be when you grow up? I don't know how many times I was asked this when I was little and I can remember every time I answered, right from the age of about three."
"First of all, and probably most comical, I actually wanted to be a Police Dog. Yes, I wasn't exactly the brightest of children. Neither were we all. No doubt most children wanted to be a princess or a superhero, e.t.c. Well, I was different, I wanted to fight crime... As an animal."
"How I didn't turn out to be a furry yiffer, I'll never know."
"After a short period of time, I realised that humans couldn't transmorph or shapeshift into animals and realised that my career path would have to be something less furry. So, what did I want to be? I wanted to be a Vet."
"That lasted for a very long time, I can even remember wanting to be a vet when I was about thirteen."
"Then, I discovered motorcycles."
"After that point in time and, up until I fully left highschool, I wanted to be a Mechanic. Everyone kept telling me 'Dear lord Megan! You're so pretty! You don't want to be a grease monkey!' Of course, I wouldn't have any of it when I was that age."
"Only when I left school did I realise where my true passion fell: Massage."
"And I went forth to achieve this dream. I am a masseuse."
"Which brings me on to another topic: How many jobs have I gone through?"
"In all honesty. too many to count."
"I started work when I was twelve, which consisted of nine to five weekends at a fish shop. Not an aquarium fish shop, an actual cooking fish shop. Selling fresh fish fillets and the like. I knew how to fillet a fish, make sushi, catch crabs, cook lobster and many other things in about two months. This benefitted me greatly later on. I adore eating fish and my father adores catching fish. From then on, I was asked to prepare voulevants for Christmas and parties, e.t.c."
"I kept that up for two years, then, at fourteen, I became a butcher's assistant. I didn't particularly enjoy that all that much. I still have a small phobia of bone's cracking to this day. But, it wasn't that bad. It was a nice, clean butcher, my co-workers and boss were lovely and the butcher itself had many, many awards for great food. I didn't enjoy 'Carcass day'. As you can probably imagine, that's when whole meat carcasses came in, fresh, and we had to take out the entrails and whatnot. It did teach my stomach to be stronger, I'll give it that much. I used to go straight from school to the butcher's and work right up until 6pm, sometimes later if extra things needed to be done."
"At sixteen, when I left school, I took a short break from the career path to better myself educationally. I took a couple of courses on anatomy and threw myself into massage. Along with a whole tonne of other things, ranging from dancing to cross-stitching to belly dancing to highers and IT."
"When I came back to Shetland, I got picked up by a new spa, almost immediately and I've been in and out of work with them ever since."
"I've run two, even three, jobs at times in the past year, to pay off certain things to do with a certain ex-partner of mine. I know... Silly... But, love makes you do strange things, no?"
"That's about it to the career section. If you can think of anything else, please, let me know."
