Abrasive Embrace

This embrace erases this painful existence
I feel as though breathing is worth my time again
I can once again live without the disdainful resistance
So eager to allow this self-confinement to end
Tearing down these fortress walls
Allowing myself to feel again
the numbness hasn't killed it all
I can still let this wounded heart let you in

So I'll take this burden
and send it crashing down
my soul is worth so much more
now that I've been found

This hunger, this thirst
Has forever been made whole
A better half to mend the aftermath
Lift me torn and beaten from this hole
Exhume this heart, this soul
This fallen warrior on the battlefield of passion
Rid me of this restless cold
Share one more embrace, I seek this only ration

You will take this burden
And send it crashing down
You make my soul worth so much more
when its me you've found

With no retaliation I accept your assaults
Knowing it will cure this disease
Love may burn but it has no faults
when the pain enables one to breath
cleanse this corrupted being
this warrior dragged through no-mans land
seeing is believing and loving is healing
