My Godly-Super-Special-Awsome-OVER-9000!!!!! but still boring Journal!!!
Well, I never made a journal before, I might as well try one here, after all I need a trash bin... ok kidding. What could I post in here?
Zodiac System on zOMG! instead of elements you say?
Also, I have a gripe against the zodiac system... It makes no semblance of sense, as in, its a completely arbitrary system of rules of what beats what, rather than an attempt at a pseudo-realistic thing.

Okay, I'm not actually coming with this from MoGa, my complaints stem from the amazing and never underrated Final Fantasy Tactics. That system had a thing that MoGa seems to have chosen randomly because of diverging objectives, which is which signs affect which the most.

Tic Tacs made it so that signs potency is interdependent. If you're strong against something, they are strong against you. They explain this in-game as it being related to the mystic of the zodiac. People are compatible to each other as per zodiac signs, the whole deal being Astrology can be either seeing the future or this! So, it when two compatible persons meet, the effect from the clash are larger, be it in companionship or animosity. And due to that interrelationship of compatibility, they made a geometric approach to the issue. They did this:

Picking up on Libra, my sign, you can see, from the colors, that I am compatible to Gemini and Aquarius. And not just that, gemini and Aquarius are also compatible to each other. It's a triangle, that connects people four months from each other. I've seen it called the Love Triangle, although it is meant to connect people by Trimesters . Yet, I am not compatible to both Capricorn and Cancer, and I have a Zodiac Opposition to Aries. Since I'm male, any other males who are Aries are VERY incompatible with me, while females are very compatible. This division works by connecting people according to Quarters, or Seasons.

It was HARD to memorize! It was a mess to get into and try to make a proper team out of. However, if you knew the triangle and square deal, you were set! All you needed was a circle with the zodiac signs and count the spaces! Too bad the game was easy, otherwise, I would have had a real deal of awesome strategic thinking to make the ultimate team. But it had an excuse, which was... It all MADE SENSE! And was PRETTY!


MoGa on the other hand, is a too literal version of the Pokemon's A beats B mechanic. You see, they wanted a sign to beat another sign with strong attacks, while that sign can only inflict weak attacks. Not a bad idea, really. It works for pokemon. Only... two problems.
One, Pokemon lets you use one type of attack on pokemon of another type with no issues. Also, there's two different kinds of stats running, so a Machoke can beat an Alakazam if he's faster and has enough physical power to do it. I'll go in detail! There is no order, so the type chart works according to two main triangles, the Triangle of Elements and the Triangle of Power, which are Fire/Water/Grass and Fighting/Dark/Psychic, to which other types relate to more or less, and form another noticeable group, the bulky "Branch of Nature" which include nearly all other types and are closely related to the main triangle and itself. See, there's a reason why Ghost is such a shitty type, and why Dark completely removed the point of its existence. Pokemon doesn't have a "Branch of Legend", which would be the branch the triangle of power would have growing itself from. So Ghost, which tends to be mainly offensive, has only advantage against one another VERY offensive typing. Psychic and itself. The result is that a Ghost is a terrible sweeper, as it is useful mostly on "Sweeper battles" against other special attack/special defense users. It can't even touch the fighting type, so it is denied of another subset of sweeping battles. And the normal type, a type that is mostly used for defense and support, goes past without giving a damn about the ghost, and is granted all the time in the world. In the end, most ghosts rely on Dark and Psychic moves to do their bidding. Dark moves, in specific, completely nullify the point of the pokemon being a ghost in first place, other than STAB and protection from Fighting. Dark ppokemon, on the other hand, have the same advantages and can be GREAT physical attackers, to abuse the lack of defense quite a few Psychic and Ghost pokemon have. Also, it doesn't beat itself. The payoff is that it is weak against Fighting, a rather common type, but still, since Dark isn't affected by Psichic and can beat it and ghost with ease, and since dark can therefore be physical, it dares to stand its ground against a fighting, given it has enough Hp or Defense. See, pokemon types are Complex.
They have a sort of self regulation depending on how you want to play, how you want to your stats to be distributed and how you're going to beat the types you want to while not letting your own damn self be beaten.

And two, and this is where things get messy Pokemon types aren't organized in a circular fashion. Not just did MoGa completely destroy the whole feel to "pokemon gameplay" with their typing, they made the Zodiac System UGLY, trying to be something it wasn't meant to!

Order of effectiveness is Purple, Green, Yellow and Red.

So MoGa has a one dimensional elemental system, and a rather ******** mess of a type advantage chart. And it is STILL ******** HARD to memorize!

So, what is the perfect MoGa team? Simple! 6 MoGa of different signs which among them beat the 12 signs, 2 each! At the highest rarity and highest level! You win! There's nothing else to it! Ever! That's it!
And if you find one of the same team... First attack wins!

If people want to add Zodiac typing to another game, be my guest, but in all serious-sity, I'd rather just have a dual-clashing elemental system instead of a lack of geometrical eye-candy
