The next day I started training. I walked into the arena at seven o'clock in the morning. Still grogy from waking up, I didn't notice the girl until I tripped over her body. In my defence, she was wearing the same shade of green as the grass. Her long hair was the same colour as mud. I found out what grass tastes like; It's not nice.
Pushing me off, she ran to the oppisite side of the arena. Jessamine had appeared there. A quick exchange of words with the girl later, she stalked over to me.
"Where were you?"
"In bed, it's not my fault you all rise with the sun."
"I told you to come to the morning run."
"And here I am."
Sighing she turned from me. The clearing started to fill with the members of the court. Some were still jogging.
Ah.
"Seeing as you're here now, we can start your wepons training," The other girl touched her earings, and her swords magicly entered her hands.
She opened a rift, and dumped a case full of training wepons. Swords of every length, throwing knives and over blades took up the right side. Bows and crosbows and sling shots on the left. In the center was whips, hammers and staffs. The other people took this as their cue to do a mix of exercises and mock fights.
"What do you want to try first?"
"What about this saber?" I lifted a long thin blade.
"That's rapier."
"Whatever." I gave the sword a experimental swish, nearly missing Jessamine.
With a flick of her hand, it flew across the clearing. People neatly side-stepped the pojectile. She handed me a heavy wooden training sword.
"When you can hold this still for ten minutes, then we will start."
She joined Theresa in a group of people organising a battle.
