As it turned out, nothing was wrong with the galley, except for the hole in the ceiling. Will asked how long it would take to get the hole fixed, and Dennis told them frankly, “Give us two days, maybe three and she’ll be just as she was before.” Dennis said, rubbing his hand along the fine wooden walls of the ship. “This is a beautiful ship, if ye don’t mind me saying so.”
“No, I’m always happy to take compliments about my ship.” Capt. Deep said.
“It seems familiar however, as if I’ve heard of it once before.” Dennis said, Bobby agreeing with him from behind. “What be this ship’s name?”
Capt. Deep was quickly thrown into shock, because she didn’t know how she was to reply to that. If she told him it was The Gull then he may fear them too much to even lay a finger on the ship. “Rina.” Capt. Deep said. Will was shocked; Rina was his ship’s name – well, it used to be. “This is the good ship Rina, and we’ve been merchant sailors for years, selling the finest foods to everyone who may come along and be in need of it.”
The two seemed convinced, and asked her for some foods. “I’m sorry, but when our ship was attacked all of the food was either destroyed or spoiled on our trip here.” Will explained.
“Now Dennis, Bobby I’d like to know if we can stay in our ship until repairs are done.” Capt. Deep quickly changed the subject.
“Well, tonight you can, because we won’t begin working until tomorrow.” Dennis replied. “But there may be loud noises that could disturb you in the night, so I would recommend you stay at an inn for your comfort.”
Capt. Deep shook her head. “I think we can handle a bit of noises in the night. I hardly believe in ghosts and ghouls who go bump in the night anymore.”
“Right, well Bobby and I had better get to work on buying those supplies we may need.” Dennis said. “I bid a good day to you two.”
