I was watching the auditions for the latest season of American Idol, and I haven't watched it thoroughly since the season Carrie Underwood won. The judges were still themselves, except that Simon lightened up a bit and Randy turned a little harsh.
I observed that people aren't afraid to make fools out of themselves. There are cases where they're unaware of the risk of humiliation and embarrassment. There were some people who I somewhat pitied as the judges decisions and opinions crushed them.
What's sensitivity? I'd always describe myself as generally sensitive. I may seem a little rough, but I've got a really soft core. My weak point can be easily located and from there, it's like a drill going through a tooth.
People tend to be irrational and rash. They tend to snap immediately. In other words, they can be too frank. They don't exactly watch their words. They don't think about the possibility that those words could hurt the person's feelings.
As for me, I usually (like 95% of the time) think before I act, including trying to find the right words to say. It can be pretty difficult and it can take lots of my time, but I've gotten used to it. Then again, there are those times when I say things and get misunderstood. Ironic, I know. I think about what I am to say, but I continue to be misunderstood.
When the person gets offended by anything said, it won't be the most obvious thing. Well, it depends if you're really that observant and intuitive. The person would continue to ponder upon these things. He'd be bothered by the thought. And that could lead to even more complications.
Being honest and being frank are too similar, but they're not completely synonymous. Honesty is simply truth by opinion. Frankness can be somewhat harsh. Ack...I really don't know what I'm typing down...-.-;;
Anyways...
...Bottom line -- Watch what you say.
