Sane looks at the whithered old man before him, "How do you.." The old man interupts him again, "It is not important how I know these things my young friend the important thing is that you are now here... like it was foretold through the ages the child of the light shall stop by here and fulfill his destiny." Sane looks at the old man and laughs, "You're crazy... I am no child of the light or however you might call the person you are waiting for. But I am told you know the whereabouts of a certain lair belonging..." The old man raises his hand, "I know of what you speak... the man there is dangerous... but the beast within the angel is even more dangerous then this man. You must beware of your heart young one... Your destiny lays to the north east of this village in the shrine of Tobaga... there you shall find the key to what you seek... and there your eye shall truly be opened to the light." Sane shakes his head, "Whatever you say old man... You're crazy for all I know this is just some damn wild goose chase! All I want to know is where Kar..." The old man's eyes open wide, "DO NOT SAY THAT NAME INSIDE MY HOME! It is forbidden! Watch your heart young one... watch your heart... no leave in peace... I have no more knowledge to offer to you." Sane shakes his head and gets up walking out of the old shack. Hector stands there a grin on his face, "So what did the old man say?"
::Fhalrik was reaching toward Kari when the door to the room flew open and Marik stepped in. Fhalrik withdrew at his partner's cold stare and promptly removed himself from the room after issuing one last daemonic snarl in Kari's direction. The blue-eyed demonmaster closed the door sharply behind the fuming daemon and moved across the room to stand a few feet from his new pet, looking down at her with interest:: You must excuse my hired help. He has not yet learned his place here.
::The darkness inside Kari seethed at the sight and smell of the summoner before her. She knew his thoughts just by searching his eyes. She was his new pet. Like a kid with a new toy, she could see the plans forming in his head, though she didn't know of their contents or nature. She practically hissed her words:: What is it you want with me, raksha summoner?
::He smiled wildly:: Do you have any idea what the purpose of my clan tracking your bloods was? ::When all he got back was a blank glare, he continued:: Your precise combination of bloods is needed for something of great value. Something of great purpose to me and to my cause. You see, of all the clans, mine was once the greatest in all of the empire until we found the Book of Valkrie. ::Kari recoiled somewhat in shock at hearing her elvish name:: Do you know what this book does? ::He lifted a worn old book from the altar at the center of the room. It had runes engraved in black on it's beaten leather cover. Kari shook her head:: It is the key to the ultimate weapon. The key to the Blade of the Gods.
Sane looks at Hector shaking his head, "Nothign too useful we must travel north east from this village, he said there is a chrine there." Hecotr thought for a second and then turned to Sane, "Yeah I know of this place, it is rumored across the land to be impenatrable... No one has gotten in... well one person but they never came out." Sane shakes his head, "I have no need for folklore here Hecotr Kari's life is possibly on the line here we need to go and save her... If this place shall help us then me must try. Come on man quickly now." Hector smiles and jumps on hsi horse, "Alright young master Sane let us move out and no stopping till we reach there understood?" Sane gives Hector a sharp stare, "I should be telling you that you blithering ox." Hector laughs and kicks his horse into a gallop and sane does so soon after giving the shack one last look.
The old man inside the shack smiles, "The child has no idea what he is getting himself into..."
A few minutes later Sane and Hecotr slow down a bit and pull their horses to a fast trot. Hector looks over at Sane and smirks, "So what else did this old fool say?" Sane looks over at Hector, "Some nonsense me being the child of light or somthing along those lines." Hector thinks for a second, "I heard this legend before..." Sane smiles, "Please Hector induldge me." Hector smiles, "As you wish Master Sane."
::Kari's curiosity was overwhelming her rage at the moment, and the summoner, though thoroughly evil, seemed like much more likeable company than Fhalrik.:: What is written in this book?
::Marik nodded, beginning to pace:: Oh, I'll come to that in due time, child. My ancestors took this book to the Empire Council to propose to the clans that the Blade of the Gods could give the Empire the ultimate weapon. Well, the Council was none for prophecies, and my clan was marked as fools and dreamers. Every generation since has been dedicated to finding the Blade and proving once and for all that we are the superior minds of the Empire. ::Marik's eyes gleamed angrily:: We will exact revenge on those who branded us and sent us to live in the shadows... ::There was a moment of silence in which Marik seemed to be thinking to himself. Then he continued:: The Book of Valkrie, my dear Kari, holds the recipe to eternal greatness. To unending power. To supreme existance. ::Kari's face showed that she didn't understand:: A weapon, dear child! A great and powerful weapon! The breath of the Gods themselves here on Earth! A power so great and terrible that none who dare stand up to it would fall at the slightest touch of it!
::Kari's eyes widened in fear, finally understanding why he wanted her. The importance of her bloods:: The recipe....my bloods... so the Blade of the Gods is...
::Marik grinned:: Yes, yes... YOU, child...
::She looked up at him in disbelief:: All of this just to exact your revenge on the Clans?!
::He looked surprised at the comment:: Just for revenge? No no no, my dear pet! My plans go FAR beyond the throws of revenge...
