Chronicles of Claive Ilusta
The Journal and log of Claive Ilusta, Kithnalian Immigrant
Homecoming (Chapter 5)
When we were done eating, it was uncomfortably silent. "So, how do you two know each other?" I asked.
"In a nutshell..." Doriyan replied, then inhaled deeply. "I was walking through the woods a week before my seventeenth birthday, when I came across a round, white rock, and I hit the rock with my sword, and it created a portal out of thin air, which she fell out of, and a few hours later we talked to a creepy fortune teller who told us that by making that spatial rift, I single-handedly threw the Multiverse out of whack, and to fix it, I had to find and use magic stones, like the one in the forest, but in alternate universes to get it balanced out again, and after three years of popping in and out of parallel dimensions, we saved all existence, and now we're engaged!" He was gesturing throughout his story, ending with him brandishing a silver ring.

"Wow. That's a huge nutshell-" I stopped because I heard the 'bang' of one of my alarms going off, along with a hushed voice saying, "Damn it!" I jumped up with my glaive in my hand, and I shoved the barricade aside, then I kicked open the door and shot a lightning bolt at the direction of the tiny explosion. A black cloud burst on the ground and reformed a short distance away, and for a split second, I saw a familiar body with dark green hair, dark blue skin, and gray clothes covered in black chainmail. "Hold up... Popper?!" I exclaimed. A female voice replied, "Fluffy?!" As I thought, it was my best friend from school, Shayra! We both stopped and looked at each other, then she suddenly hug-tackled me. "Claive! I thought that I felt a familiar aura nearby!" she said, getting off of me an helping me up. "Shayra, you're a real sight for sore eyes." I said, smiling. Doriyan, ever the mood-killer, stood in the doorway and remarked "Fluffy? She called you... Fluffy? That's a really macho nickname, isn't it?" He started snickering, so I punched him in the arm. "Make way, space waster; you've got company." Shayra said, while pushing Doriyan aside and walking into my house. Whoo, she's as blunt and fiesty as ever! This is shaping up to be an interesting adventure.
