this is "A Light In The Dark" Chapter two Looking about in the night with my cat eyes, I quickly ran from my home and into the darkness. A guard caught my attention and I pressed into the shadows. Soon I knew the shadows would be gone as the eastern sky began to lighten. I made my way to the gait to wait for sunrise. As I waited I saw light streaming out of the window of the inn I robbed earlier. A man about 17 or 18, my age, was in the window getting up and dressing. And as he pulled a deep purple tunic over his head the gate rose and I slipped out and into the rising dawn. Walking into a nearby barn I went in and spotted a black horse in the stable and climbed on and over the stable gate, ignoring the embroidered saddle that hung from a near-by post and I grabbed a tan blanket and swung it onto the horse. “Hello horsy, what’s your name?” I spoke to the horse a skill that comes with being a shape shifter. “Some call me Dark, would prefer Twilight.” He said bowing his head like a gentle man. “and Miss I thank you for not using that dreaded saddle it does make me awful sore.” He said politely. “Why you’re welcome Twilight, I rather do hate using those things. But would you mind if I was to use a rope so I won’t pull on your hair?” I asked rubbing his nose. “Yes you may, I thank you again for your consideration.” I pulled a rope from the saddlebag and I tied it to his lead, then I jumped onto his back and led him out of the barn stopping only once to grab a rapier. The rapier was slightly heavy as of all swords but it was as if for a girl or as a decorative sword. The sheathe was a deep blue as my eyes and the hilt was laid with a blue cloth a gold ribbon making its way down in a spiral pattern. Pulling the sword out of the sheathe you could tell of its forgery. Silver and gold was lain in the sword, the decorative you only find in royalty or noblemen. I sheathed the sword and put it at my waist. We set out on the road as the man in purple came out of the gates. I pushed Twilight into a gallop and we were off with the man in purple yelling after us.
