Now, what do you think of that title?

Okay, so I was watching the new Harry Potter movie the other day and it brought some stuff to mind. Now, I am well aware that women used to wear dresses/skirts ALWAYS, but, if you think about it, it really should have been men who rode sidesaddle ~ considering they are more delicate in the crotch area than women are. Or maybe both genders should have just rode sidesaddle together and that would have been fin and dandy. Nowadays, women could ride normally (don't know what it's called... straddlesaddle) and men still have the issues of the tender manly parts. But who am I to judge the wisdom of society?

As for the broomsticks.... well, I really don't think it'd be particularly comfortable for either gender to ride them in the way depicted by most media forms. Of course, there is an issue of stability when one's arse is perched on a thin stick of wood and sitting sideways on it would most likely be even more dangerous than sitting astraddle. Now, if one were to install a sort of... bike seat or something onto the broom. Then we'd be talking. Maybe just a widened, flattened bit where the rider is supposed to sit.

As a random side comment ~ I did hear an interview with some of the cast of the Harry Potter movies and the dude said it was rather uncomfortable.


As of now until I get un-lazy, there will be no more Japanese words of the day. Plus, I haven't learned any new ones, as it's summer.
