TLLF: Chapter 3 Part 3


In Sickness and in Health


Sasori and Deidara held each other in their arms while the sun continued to set. It was getting late and Sasori’s 2 hours were long up. Sasori opened up his eyes and looked at the sky. His eyes widened when he noticed the time.
“ Deidara! We better get back to the hideout before Pein raises suspicions!” said Sasori. Deidara looked up too, and also noticed the time.
“ Yeah your right! I don’t need Pein on my back again.” Said Deidara. They both stood up and started running back to the hideout. While they were running, it started to rain. The rain was freezing cold with large gusts of cold wind. Deidara struggled to keep up when he suddenly tripped in the mud.
“ Sasori!” he yelled. The rain was loud and Sasori didn’t here Deidara call for help. Sasori kept running off into the rain until Deidara couldn’t see him. Deidara tried to stand back up but suddenly stopped from a pain in his ankle. He looked down and noticed that it was broken. The rain soaked Deidara’s hair and it was blocking his eyes. Deidara shook his head and called for Sasori again. Sasori didn’t come. Deidara tried again to move but the pain was overwhelming. He lay in the mud with his tears mixing in the rainwater. Deidara tried crawling and he made it to the trunk of a tree. His arms were scratched all over form crawling and getting his skin snagged on thorns. He leaned up agents the tree with his face screwed up in pain. “ S-Sasori-Danna…c-come back…” Deidara muttered. The rain soaked through his cloths and to his skin. He shivered agents the cold, rain fell harder and the wind picked up. He was covered in mud and his hair and cloths clinged to his body. His ankle swelled a little but was kept down from the cold wind. It turned pale white and it stiffened. Deidara tried to move again, but he couldn’t even move his leg. “ Please… Master Sasori…” Deidara said in a whisper. He shivered.
Sasori was running and he was a few minutes away from reaching the hideout. “ Were almost there! How are you keeping up Deidara?” Sasori asked. There was no reply. Sasori looked over his shoulder then suddenly stopped. He didn’t see Deidara behind him. “ Deidara?!” Sasori started running back, trying to look through the thick rain and wind. “ Deidara!” Sasori called. He searched all over the forest, retracing his steps. The rain began to harden, turning into hail. The hail clicked agents Sasori’s face as he ran all over searching for his partner. He was growing more and more worried the longer he searched with out finding Deidara. “ Deidara!” Sasori yelled again. Deidara heard Sasori’s muffled voice through the hail and wind, but he didn’t believe it.
“ D-Danna…?” Deidara whispered. He looked up and saw Sasori’s blurred figure running through the wind. “ Danna?” he said. Sasori’s figure started to become clearer and Deidara could make out his face. “ Sasori!” called Deidara. Sasori heard him and saw Deidara leaning agents the tree. Sasori’s eyes widened and ran to the spot next to him.
“ Deidara! Thank god I found you! Come on! You must be freezing!” Sasori said. He took Deidara’s hand and pulled. Deidara let out a yell of pain.
“ No! Sasori…I…I can’t move my ankle…It’s broken Danna…” Deidara sobbed. Sasori stood in shock for a moment.
“ We have to get you back. Hold on Deidara.” Sasori picked up Deidara and held him in front of his chest. Sasori carried Deidara back to the hideout and was on his way to Deidara’s room when he ran into Pein. There was a long silence as Pein starred down at the shivering Deidara and soaking wet Sasori.
“ What the hell happened.” Pein finally said. Sasori looked up at Pein and put on an act.
“ Stupid kid broke his ankle slipping in the mud. I found him on my way back.” Lied Sasori. Pein looked down at Sasori with suspicion in his eyes.
“ Your late Sasori. You should have been back four hours ago. How do explain that.” Asked Pein. There was a short pause.
“ I ran into a couple of spies. They were strong, so I killed them and I am planing to make their bodies into puppets. Any more questions Leader-Samma?” Sasori said. Pein stared at Sasori for a minute.
“ Take the kid and heal him. I can’t afford to have my members get sick.” Said Pein.
“ Yes sir.” Sasori nodded. He took Deidara to his room and closed the door. Deidara looked up at Sasori. His face was pale, he was shivering, and he was wet. There was a smudge of mud on his face and on his clothing. Sasori took off Deidara’s cloths and gave him dry ones. He started a small fire in the chimney and covered Deidara with a blanket.
“ Why r u doing this for me…?” asked Deidara, “ Aren’t I the stupid kid you were talking about?” Sasori looked at Deidara and shook his head.
“ I only said that so Pein wouldn’t ask anymore questions. And besides, you must be freezing. I’m sorry. I didn’t know you fell.” Sasori apologized. He looked at Deidara’s ankle and took it gently in his hands. Deidara flinched and his face was in pain. “ Sorry.” Said Sasori. He rolled up Deidara’s pant leg and looked at Deidara’s pale, swollen ankle. “ Here. I’ll heal it for you. Must be pretty painful.” Said Sasori. Deidara sat in silence as Sasori’s hand glowed with the green chakra that was healing his broken bone. He laid his head agents the pillow and closed his eyes.
“ Sasori?” Deidara said softly. Sasori looked up.
“ Yes Deidara…?” replied Sasori. His face was concerned and his hair still dripped with water. Deidara looked at him with a tired and pale face.
“ Thank you. For everything.” Deidara said with a small smile. Sasori made a soft smile.
“ It’s nothing Deidara.” Sasori replied. Sasori stood up after he had healed Deidara’s ankle. He leaned over to Deidara and kissed him on the forehead. Deidara smiled and kissed Sasori softly on his lips.
“ I love you…Danna.” Deidara said in a soft whisper. Sasori looked into Deidara’s eyes and gently smiled.
“ Deidara…I love you too.” Sasori said.
