Approaching a forest maybe a mile outside the city, Arnath heard voices from within. He entered the woods cautiously, right hand grasping the hilt of his sword at his side. A few meters forward, he noticed the ones who had been speaking. Sheathing his blade, he quickly leapt to a tree branch, grasping it and pulling himself up.
A young lady looked around, seeing a knight who had just arrived. She watched him as he entered the clearing. The man pulled the reins to stop the horse atop which he rode. The steed snorted and pawed the ground, dark eyes looking the surroundings over. The knight dismounted, though only the sound of his armor creaking could be heard, and his steps were light enough to barely leave a mark on the ground. As the knight dismounted his horse, the lady nodded to him in greeting.
The young lady, hearing a small noise, looked to Arnath. "Hello," she said.
The knight nodded back to the woman, then looked over at Arnath. He didn't seem amused by the blade. He also wasn't much of a speaker, so he hadnt responded.
The knight spoke to himself. "Why did he even bother to come out here? It was probably to kill time. This is a first though, that his eldest child hasn't been here to bother him." So tempted was the knight to start something there, but he had been there before, and respected the forest. As for the inhabitants, well that depended.
The lady picked an apple out from her pouch, that hung from her belt. Arnath picked himself up to stand upon the branch and jumped down, landing on his feet.
The knight walked away and moved to the lake. Staring at the water a moment, he raises one hand, and a liquid ball rises from the surface. Well we could practice some magic.
The aroma catching his nostrils, Arnath ventured toward the lady. "May I have one?"
The young lady looked up to Arnath as he walked up to her. "Sure." She pulled out another apple out of the sack and handed it to him.
Taking it appreciatively, Arnath smiled before biting into the fruit. "Thank you!"
The young lady looked up to him and smiled. "You're welcome. I am Destiny by the way..."
Noticing the food still remaining in his mouth, Arnath finished the bite and apologized. "Oh, forgive me...My name is Arnath Delgata."
"It is nice to meet you Arnath," she relied.
The knight made the water into a shape with a very sharp point. He turned his head, glancing over his shoulder at the two there. Still he seemed to wait, not speaking though a hidden smile formed behind the helmet.
"A pleasure," Arnath said, falling down abruptly, sitting next to her while continuing to eat the fruit. "I wonder if sir Sifl lived here...A friend of mine told me he'd lived in a forest, but around someplace called Rhy'Din."
Destiny smiled as he sat next to her. "I have never heard of either of them..."
"Where is this place?" Arnath asked. "If you don't mind me asking?"
She thought a minute. "It is by the Misty Mountains and a castle lies to the north. That is all I know."
The knight stepped to the side, and the water shape shot towards them like a spear.
"Hmm...Well thank you." Arnath said. He noticed the aqueous magic heading toward him. With a wave of the lady's hand, a simple Protect spell was cast upon them. Confident in her magic, she continued eating the apple.
As the water did part into droplets hitting the he just smirked. "Good thing one of you two did something..."
Destiny smirked. "I thought of attacking the water...didn't seem too smart though. Very risky. You could get wet." Arnath smirked as well. Destiny looked into the direction of the knight as she frowned a little then yelled. "Hey why did you do that anyway?"
"I would suppose he was just having fun," Arnath said.
"Pure boredom..." The knight responded. "I could have done far worse." He stood only watching them.
Destiny continued to frown. "Well you better not..."
"But of course you could've done worse," Arnath stated. "Water is far less powerful than other elements, however upon being cast by the right user, shouldn't be underestimated." He had finished his apple and stood, stretching his arms behind him and sighing of relief.
Destiny watched him as he stood up. "Are you leaving?"
"I respect the forest..." the Knight stated, "But that doesn't mean I can't bother those present."
Addressing the lady. "Maybe not now, but thank you for the apple!"
She smiled. "Youre welcome."
"I agree that the forest is something to be respected...and I disagree with the fact you say you're bothering me. Not many people have the ability to bother me anymore."
She looked up to Arnath. "And why is that?"
"'Cept for sir Sifl, whom I must mention again. No one bothers me because I've learned to accept people for who they are. I can find humor in my old foes as well as joy in my past experiences with them."
She nodded. "It is a good thing to do, I guess you would stay much happier that way.
Arnath nodded also. "They've taught me much."
"You talk too much..." the knight said.
"Yes that is true," Destiny said. "The more things that you encounter, the more you learn."
"Take my ally, sir Sephfireka for example. We spoke of past conflicts and the future; he is truly a good friend. But he is the one who has taught me to accept people. She nodded. Arnath laughed a bit. "I was forced to accept him, because our past tied us together." Thinking to himself. "HmmMaybe I do talk too muchCare to tell me about yourself, lady Destiny?"
"I am an apprentice to both Rend and Surako, if you have never heard of them." She said. "They are dragons. Surako stuck my only sword within stone atop one of the mountains. I can not get it out till I learn the magic to get it out myself."
"Actually the foot of the mountain is in this forest, just down one of the paths," Destiny said.
"And you haven't come across it?" Arnath asked. "How big is the forest?"
She nodded. "Yeah, I know exactly where it is I just cant get it out yet."
"Oh, I see." Arnath said.
"Yeah, I miss it but I have become used to not having it with me."
Noticing movement out of the corner of his eye, Arnaths attention turned back to the lady. "I would feel naked without my blade."
"I have a wooden sword now and a knife, so it isnt that bad."
The knight turned his gaze to the unfamiliar presence once again.
Arnath nodded. "Weapons shouldn't be relied on so frequently anyway."
Destiny nodded. "Yeah most of the time I was just sharpening the sword anyways."
Another young lady walked into the forest with a smile clear upon her face, her skin seemed to almost glow it being like glazed honey. Her hair whipped around in the wind it looking like wild flames, her eyes looked to the sky and sparkled spiraticly like random stars in the sky.
Noticing the girl, Arnath felt his presence was soon to be unwanted or unacknowledged. "I should get going," Arnath said as he walked down one of the paths.
