A new hope has surfaced
Wolfena began to dream. However this dream was different than her usual nightmares. Everything was different. In her wolf form, she faced a shadow wall. The wall blocked her path and stared her down. Backing up, she tried to find an escape but she knew she couldn’t go back. This was the only way. Fear invaded her mind. She pulled the fear to the side and stood her ground. The wall of darkness sent out waves of evil towards her. The waves surrounded her, threatning to crush her. As the waves grabbed her, a hand reached from the wall of darkness towards her. Wolfena watched as the hand’s figure stepped out. It was a seventeen boy that stood around six feet. His appearance was clouded by his own aura. A aura different from the shadows that bent on killing her. The figure stretched out his hand again to help her through. Wolfena reached out her paw to take his hand.
They locked and he pulled her through the wall of darkness. Darkness behind her, Wolfena felt a bright aura shine down on her. The boy stayed by her and a smile could be seen through the bright light. A new hope has surfaced.

Wolfena woke up suddenly, realizing it was a dream. ‘That boy! He looked....he looked like Zero. Could it be? Can he?’ she glanced at Susan’s pink digital clock, it read “11:00". ‘Almost midnight...if I wanna try I should get going.’ Wolfena raised up and slipped through Susan’s door that was ajar. Heading through the house unnoticed, she turned the backdoor’s knob and headed out. The night was cool on her fur as she ran through the night.
She made it to the woods and found her spot. ‘Lycanthropes can change at their own wills. If I can change....why can’t I change freely? But how? Ever since that day when I found this bracelet....it changed me. Changed my life.’ Wolfena looked down at the bracelet on her ankle. ‘It transformed me back....but how? I just wanted it so bad, then before I knew it, I was back to my human self. Then it reverted me back into a wolf again. Does it have a time limit? A one thing deal? Dammit! It’s so confusing!’ Wolfena growled and snapped at the bracelet. she let out a sigh and stared up at the moon. It was a waxing crescent moon. ‘Here goes....’ She closed her eyes and concentrated on her human self. ‘Please work...please!’
As to grant her plea, she felt the strange aura once again. The aura that changed her before. She cringed as she felt her bones move and transform. Her wolf features disappeared and now stood her former human self. “Yes! I did it!” she cheered looking at her hands in delight. She flexed her fingers and looked down at herself. She was still dressed in that cloth bra and loincloth. “Ok, think. what made me change last time?” she asked herself. Standing up she began to walk.
“I heard Susan and wondered what to do. Could it be that my subconscious changed me back? But what about the other days I tried and failed? Couldn’t be the moon....it was a different moon that day.” Wolfena leaned on a tree near the end of the woods. “But in order to figure this out, I need help. But who could.....I know! That Zero guy.....could he help me? But to trust him?” She stared at some cars going by, out of town. “Like I have a choice. That dream.....was it him? The park....I’ll see him tomorrow at the park. Now lets see how long my form will last...” Wolfena walked back into the woods.

Dawn arrived and Wolfena was still in human form. She was still hidden in the woods, waiting. Counting every minute she stayed human. “Hours now....” Wolfena spoke as she watched the sun rise higher in the sky. She shielded her eyes from the harmful rays and then pushed off the tree she was leaning on. “What now? Should I revert back? Or go meet him now?” she asked herself. Glancing down at herself she blushed. “I should at least find something else to put on.” She rubbed her bare arms as to relieve the shivers that settled on her skin from the early morning’s dew.
As she walked toward the end of the woods, she suddenly stopped. Despite being now human she still held the wolf’s form sense. She turned to see a rabbit hopping out of a bush. “A rabbit.....” Wolfena laughed at herself. ‘I wonder what time it is?’ She thought to herself, looking back at the sun. “least around seven....I think.” Wolfena began walking again.
Finally out of the woods, she hid behind one of the town’s buildings. The town was crowded with people today. Peeking out from behind a tall building, she watched the people. Her eyes settled on the clothing store. “I have no money....damn.” she whispered to herself. She leaned her back against the building’s stone wall and sighed. ‘Can’t go out in public wearing this...’ Wolfena raised her eyes to a fluffy cloud that was hovering over. As in a trance she kept watching the clouds, her eyes becoming heavy. “Should’ve gotten some sleep last nigh-“ She slumped to the ground, asleep. Her head resting against the stone wall.

A few hours passed and Wolfena awoke to a man poking her with a stick. “Hey! What are you doing?!” she hollared, slapping the long stick away. “You pretty....wanna do it?” the man poking her with a stick asked. He seemed like the homeless, drunk men that roamed the town. His messy brown hair looked as it hasn’t seen shampoo or a hairbrush in centeries. And he wore dirty and ripped rags. His whole body smelt of alchohal and drugs. “N-NO!” Wolfena quickly gotten to her feet and stepped away from the man. “You sure? I could make you feel with pleasure.” The man smiled as he inched closer. “I said no! So back off pal!” She warned still backing up. “Yo boss! Need any help?” Yelled a couple of men approaching from behind other buildings. “Oh great....me here half naked and a group of men trying to have their way with me....just what I need....” she let out sarcastically as she turned to run. Before she could take a step, someone grabbed her from behind. The men pushed her against the building, smiling and laughing. Wolfena tried kicking and resisting but they were stronger. “Let me Go!” She yelled as she landed a kick in a man’s crotch. “You damn b***h!” He breathed as he hit the ground.
“HELP! Someone! Help!” Wolfena screamed at the top of her lungs as she still fought the men. Kicking wildly, she landed more hits on the men, until two men held her legs. She screamed agian. People looked around scared but didn’t help. Rising with fear and anger as the men pulled down her loincloth, her body began to change. Her wolf form was emerging. Scared, the men released her and jumped back. Wolfena fell to the ground, her body changing back into the wolf form. “Oh s**t! What is that thing!” They yelled, backing away.
Growling, Wolfena lunged for the men, tearing at them with her claws and fangs. They ran but she was on their tails. She jumped and landed on one’s back, biting his shoulder. He yelled in pain. ‘I’m tired of being afraid!’ She said to herself as she pulled herself away from the frightened and bleeding man. He got to his feet and took off. Looking around she seen people staring at her. “A wolf? Here? How could that be?” Wolfena heard the people whisper to theirselves as fear were in thier eyes. “She attacked those men! Call the animal control!” A woman shouted.
Refusing to listen to anymore, Wolfena shot off back into the woods. ‘I did attack those men....’ She told herself, ‘but those men attacked me first! I screamed and damn yelled for someone to help me....but no one came...’ Wolfena realized sadly. Remembering her dream again, she seen what looked to be Zero. ‘Could he help me? It was only a dream....and I couldn’t see that boy clearly....but something about him. I have to try.’ Wolfena found a small creak and looked at herself through the water’s reflection. Her fangs were dipped in blood and so was her fur around her mouth. ‘I bit that guy hard.....the blood tastes awful!’ She cringed as her tongue touched the blood. Dipping her head into the water she rid the disgusting blood. ‘Ah, better.’ She said trying to smile in her wolf form. Only her tail wagged and her eyes lit up. She watched herself more in the reflection, trying different emotions.
Looking up at the sky she noticed it was around noon, due to the sun right in the middle of the sky. ‘I should start heading for the park.’ she told herself as she made her way out of the woods again. Careful not to be seen she snuck by the town and ran full speed down the road. She stayed on the sidewalk, weary of the passing cars and people’s curious stare. After another hour she made it to the park. It seemed less crowded than yesterday.
She headed for the same spot he was before, but she didn’t see Zero. She looked around but none of the people were him. Closing her eyes she tried sensing his aura, but nothing. ‘Where is he? Did I just miss him?’ Wolfena wondered as she searched through the people again. Still nothing. ‘I’ll wait.’ she told herself as she sat down between the trees.
It seemed forever as she waited for Zero to show up. He never shown. The park seemed to be closing and people began to leave. The sun was now farther west. ‘The park closes around six-thirty today....on sundays.’ she reminded herself. Still she waited. Closing her eyes she blocked out every noise she heard and focused on feeling. Only a soft breeze from the wind was felt. Sighing she just laid down, watching the top of the grass move along with the wind.
Half an hour passed and Wolfena gotten tired of waiting. Instead of just leaving, she walked around the empty park. It wasn’t as big as she thought and it was oddly peaceful without the crowed of people. There were few scattered trees around the outside near the park walls and in the middle was just grass with a few dirt places. They sky was becoming darker as the sun began to set.
Walking along the fence border, Wolfena caught a strange scent in the air. ‘Zero?’ she thought to herself. Following the scent, she came to a small ditch hidden behind the trees near the fence. The dirt around the ditch seemed to be loose as been dug up recently. As on impulse Wolfena began digging where the ground was loose. After a few strokes as strange object surfaced. ‘What is this?’ Wolfena asked sniffing the object. The strange scent was coming from it.
The object looked to be a locked box with a weird mechanical pad on the side. Instead of regular numbers it had strange symbols. The size of the box was palm-sized and it seemed to be a unusual type of metal. ‘What a strange object....I wonder...’ Wolfena picked up the object in her mouth and glanced around the area. ‘I wonder if this object is what Zero was looking for?’ She asked herself as she headed for the tree spot where she once was before. Setting the object in front of her, she waited again.
An hour later, is when she picked up the scent of Zero. Carrying the object with her she followed his scent. She found him searching behind the park’s fence, eyes on the ground. He didn’t seem to sense her as she quietly approached. Making a grunting sound, she caught his attention. “Wolfena?” He asked looking at her. ‘I found your weird object. I assume it’s yours cause it’s weird and it was in the park.’ She said dropping it down. “Where was it? I searched and searched....” He rubbed his hand through his hair. “Thanks!” He bent over to pick it up.
Before he could touch it, Wolfena snapped at his hand and pushed the object away with her foot. ‘Before you get it, I have a offer for you.’ She said watching him closely. “An offer? For what?” He asked, his expression confused. ‘You’ll help me. Help me find the man that murdered my family! I’ll give you this object, only if you agree.” Wolfena placed her front right paw on the object as to claim it. “I don’t know where he is. Like I told you, he could be anywhere....I’m sorry.” Zero looked at Wolfena, giving her a sympathetic look. ‘You have to help me! You’re the only one that can! You’re this fullfiller of prophecies that goes around helping people right? Please I have no one else to go to. I....I can’t keep living like this. Living like a house pet. It’s disgrading and insulting. My family deserves more than just my memory! They deserve revenge and only you can lead me to that path! Please Zero....at least take me with you when you go. Help me train....’ Wolfena avoided his eyes and stared down as to hide her sadness.
“Wolfena....” Zero gave her a sympathetic smile and bent down to face her. “I’ll help you. I can’t promise anything. I have no idea where he could be or if I can even find the world.” Wolfena looked up at him. ‘You promise at least to try?’ Zero’s smile broaden and he reached out his hand. Taking his hand with her paw, they shook in agreement. “I’ll take you with me, but it’s going to be at least a week before I apart.” he stood back up to his feet with the object in hand. ‘A week?’ Wolfena asked as she cocked her head to the side in confusion. “I need to gain some merchandise. I accidently teleported here after I just finished with a major battle. However I landed wrongly and busted a few parts and then I almost lost this thing. I also need to get my barrings straight to how far I need to go before I teleport.” Wolfena watched him in curiosity and amazement as she listened to his words. ‘What is that thing anyway?’ she finally asked.
“Just an item I need for a mission.” He answered tucking it in his trench coat pocket. Wolfena let out a big yawn as she stretched her back. “You look tired, head on home.” Zero said watching her. ‘I already took a few naps today, mainly waiting on you.’ Wolfena said, as she shook her head to rid the sleepy that took over her. “Sorry I didn’t know I was due for a meeting.” Zero replied running his hand through his hair. ‘Yeah....you’re right. The little girl will be worried, like I care...’ Wolfena mumbled in her mind. “I’ll tell you what. Go on home and get some sleep. I’ll meet up with you later in the spot where you first met me.” Zero said with a smile as he patted her on the head. ‘Don’t do that!’ Wolfena pulled back from his hand. ‘I still don’t trust you fully.’ She turned around and began to walk. ‘He’s going to help me...’ She said as soon as she knew she was clear of his mind reading abilities. Taking a quick glance back she noticed he too, was gone. ‘Disappeared?’
A few hours later she finally found her way home. The door was locked and no one seemed to be awake. ‘Why do I have this feeling the kid’s going to yell at me when she finds me?’ Wolfena asked herself with a hint of sarcasim. She curled up next to the door and drifted asleep.
