The city reeks. There's a pungent odor here that only comes from a place that's infested with human beings. If the others notice it they do a fine job of hiding it. Maybe they're all too focused on our mission or something, I don't know. All I do know is the longer I'm stuck in this rotten cesspool, the longer I think I'm not going to be allowed back through the gate to get home.
Stroder Kullie
I arrived in the city about three years ago. I have to say, I about gagged the moment I stepped out of the gate that brought me here. But, I stomached the stench and pressed on. I thought the mission would be a quick and simple one. Find the thirteen fugitives that came to the city to escape judgement. What I didn't realize is they melded into the city's population perfectly. In three years, we've in total managed to find six of them and eliminate them. Each time the others get more cautious, more adept at avoiding us and our search techniques.
Eventually, we couldn't stay hidden scouring this city by air, invisible to the humans who live here. We had to go amongst them just like our prey. It turns my stomach. The longer we stayed the more and more like them we became. Just as our ancestors lost their powers slowly the longer they stayed before the cataclysm wiped most of them out, so did we.
Now, we're almost identical to them. Our abilities, earned by our superior technologies and knowledge of the power that drives this universe, have dwindled to the point that now we mere "super humans" as they call us. We're faster and stronger than any human being, but to a third class hunter like myself, I might as well be an invalid. I can't imagine what it's like for the Captain. He's so much stronger than the rest of us but still, his power is so depleted...We have to find the other seven soon, otherwise we'll be deemed human and left here to rot.
I will not accept imprisonment.
