I've been getting crafting requests without the use of the form. While I've been ok with this, there's been an idea that shop rules won't apply even without them. Let me make it clear.
1. I charge a shop fee for using my services - I'm not rich as the stereotype that Alchemy seems to be. I did not just magically use real money to become rich overnight and become "hardcore" like the rest of the whiners in Site Feedback would like to have you believe. I worked hard over the course of months - a year to get to where I am today.
With help from close friends and catching on trends on the market I amassed a large enough pool of gold to attempt Alchemy. I started on this for a few reasons, most notably I did this to help others, as well as craft new and unique items for myself someday. This doesn't mean that I don't have needs or wants on this site.
It cost me a lot to get to this point and I need to reclaim this funding in some way. I just hope people realize this before ordering and not imply that I'm automatically rich just cause I hit level 10.
2. I require all parts of a formula to be given at the time of crafting - I let it go once without accepting all parts of the formula but I learned my lesson and never again will it happen. I now will ALWAYS require every part of a formula before crafting attempts. I'm not able to give freebies to anyone anymore. That only applied to the time I was building my level as I'm sure you will see other shops level 1 - 9 do on theirs. I have nothing to gain any longer as a 10. Therefore one shouldn't try to assume I'm here to craft things for free now as it will only cost me gold and have little return for me except through my shop services fee.
3. Don't assume I say something without confirming that's what I meant - When I say something as part of an earlier discussion, don't imply I mean something else entirely. I'm here to craft for people but I don't want to be abused or I will seriously reconsider how I operate my crafting services. I'm nice to everyone but I don't want a few bad apples to ruin it for everyone else either.
When I say for example: "I normally charge crafting cost on each fail. I'll let the first one go but not the ones after." It does not mean I said: "I won't charge for the initial crafting cost." It's pretty clear what I had intended to say in the first statement. No alchemy crafting shop in existence is going to permit a formula to fail 20 times and not expect some form of repayment for it from the person that ordered it. Why should mine be any different? stare
In closing I want to say thanks to all that helped me to this point and that the above was just needed to vent a little after a less than perfect order a while ago.
Now back to my regular buggy self. 3nodding
