Adam was laughing and Jeff placed the frying pan he'd hit Adam with on the table and rubbed his head. Adam had nearly been killed and he had lingered on saving him. Why? Why had he lingered? He wanted his friend to be alright but... But what? He wasn't happy that his friend who'd always been a misfit, a lazy, quiet, and boring person became the savior supposedly. He'd ******** up on every accord and was nothing but a minor character in this story of demons and death. Jeff faked his smile when Adam awoke and thanked him. He grimly thought about the things that must've occured in the realm of the Demon. Maybe it was nothing, maybe the Demon struck a deal with Adam who accepted and Jeff was going to die because the contract only adhered to Adam. Jeff squeezed his eyes shut in their room and thought long and hard. Maybe he should've let Adam die in that realm, maybe he just put off something that was destiny. Why had Adam been used and not him? Wasn't he good enough for the demons of hell? Or was he just some tool that Adam was using at his whim. Even the bunks represented him Always on the second bunk and never the first. He had enjoyed this but the thought came to him that Adam had placed him in the second bunk because he was second in everything Adam did. His head started hurting. These thoughts whirled around in his head and Jeff let them. He let them influence him.
A voice spoke to him from the dark reaches of his mind, it spoke softly and with a gentle, womanly, voice. It calmed him and he listened to it. Maybe this was an angel speaking to him, or another demon. Regardless, Jeff listened with perfect attention. The words flowed like honey and trickled into his ear, into his brain. The words said: "Kill him, little Jeffy, don't you hate being second best? Won't you do it for me, sweetums?" Jeff nodded his head, eyes staring down at his feet. The voice continued and Jeff listened closer than before. He loved the thoughts pushed in his head. Loved them more than anything, they were heavenly and almost pure.
"Take a knife from the drawer, plunge it in his throat, you can do that can't you, Jeffy?" He could see an image in his mind now, a woman who's breasts were guarded by silk waves of cloth and a face so perfect, smooth, pale, with blonde hair flowing. Her legs were long and slender, smooth like the silk that guarded her breasts. She slide a hand up her thighs and to her breasts, swaying the cloth slightly so he could glimpse the n****e that hid beneath it. She opened her mouth and spoke with her same soft voice. "Kill him tonight, and this will be yours." She smiled and winked her eye before Jeff was pulled closer to him by the silken cloth, which writhed like snakes. She brought him close and placed her hands on his cheeks. Jeff put his arms behind her back and felt her buttocks, then her back, and finally her neck. She drew him in closer and his chest rubbed against her breasts. She placed her lips on his and-
"-Jeff, what are you staring at?" Adam nudged his friend with his elbow. "Fade out?" Jeff shook his head and felt a wetness in his jeans. He shook his head and looked at Adam. A bright flame aura surrounded him and Jeff felt an urge to choke and stab him. He managed to push these feelings off of his shoulder, but not without struggle.
"Yeah, kinda."
"Well, let's get something to eat, eh? Maybe the diner on King street?"
"In an hour, I gotta shower."
"Alright, see ya then."
Adam left the room and went to their living room, a bowl of cerial sat on the wood table. Jeff checked the clock and saw that an hour had passed, but the vision seemed to last eternity. He got up and went to the shower.

He sat under the stream of water for ten minutes before he grabbed the shampoo. He looked down and wasn't suprised to see his soldier standing at full attention. He sighed and lathered his hair with the shampoo. Before long, he had a white cloud of foam on his short blond hair. He got under the stream again and washed it out. The voice spoke again, but it sounded much closer than before. He ripped the curtain aside and saw the Lady. She opened her arms to him and gestured to his p***s. He didn't need anything else to rush forward to her. She was made out of the steam this time, and Jeff could see that. But it felt like flesh. She placed herself on top of him and rubbed him gently, before going all out. He was breathing heavily and could see her smiling at him. A knock came on the door and she was gone, back into the steam. He saw he had his hand on his d**k and heard Adams voice.
"Hey, it's been an hour, hurry up will ya?"
"Uh, sure, let me wash this soap out and dry off," Jeff said through clenched teeth. "We'll head out in half an hour."
He stood under the stream of water for another half hour before getting out and drying his hair off with his towel. When he came out he wasn't suprised to see Adam sitting in the couch with his classic black hoodie on and his glasses replaced with contacts. He must have heard the door open because when Jeff stepped out, Adam turned around and had his watch out. The time was 3:50. Jeff nodded and Adam turned around and flipped the T.V. on.
Jeff dried himself off in his room and was out in twenty minutes, his hair was brushed and he wore a white T-shirt and blue jeans. He seemed to be the opposite of the black clad Adam. The both of them were out of the apartment and walking toward the diner. The day was nice and they both saw no point in driving on such a nice day. Adam and Jeff made small talk on their way and Jeff still managed to refrain from murdering Adam the whole time. Although he did trip Adam by 'accident' and that had given him the slightest bit of mischievious pleasure. They were at the diner in a mere ten minutes, a two minute drive from the apartment. There was a sign that had the name of the diner spread across in dimly lit red letters. The sign red: Mikes Roadside Diner.
The diner was a very small when compared to the other big time fast food joints set across the town of Canterview. The diner was a frequent stop for truckers driving through Canterview. The truckers were the prime customers and you could almost always see a semi right outside in the little parking lot. When Adam Jeff entered through the glass doors, a line of truckers sat on the stools with their backs hunched over and their caps low over their face. The two roomates sat in one of the few half-booths (one side booth the other a chair.) and waited for their waitress. Jeff took the chair and Adam grabbed the booth. The waitress arrived at their table and gave them their menus. She asked what they wanted to drink.
"I'll have Dr. Pepper," Adam said. "And I know what I want already, I'll just have a burger with everything 'cept mayo."
"Fries?" the waitress asked.
"No fries ma'am."
The waitress wrote on a little notepad she kept in her hand and she turned to Jeff. "Um, I'll just have the same thing, but with a diet Coke." She nodded her head and wrote it down. She told them she'd be right back with their drinks and left for the kitchen. Adam got his drink in a minute and Jeff got his the second. A voice snaked it's way into Jeff's head again, telling him to murder Adam here with a fork, but he pushed it away. I'll get caught." He told the voice. The police will get here and he might live.
"What'd you say?"
"Er... Nothing."
"You sure? It sounded like.."
"Nothing!"
Adam looked at Jeff straight in his eyes and finally, just nodded and stood up. He walked over to the waitress and pulled his wallet out. He paid for the food, put the wallet back, and left. He was heading home and Jeff knew it. He was getting away from him. He knows. Jeff pushed himself out of the chair and made for the door when the waitress stepped in front of him, she placed her hand on Jeff's shoulder and winked, pushing her chest forward. Jeff pushed her away without a thought, he'd known something more perfect than her petty human form. He'd made love to a goddess.
The waitress stumbled enough for Jeff to move past her. She shook her head and went back to her duties. Jeff pushed the door open and looked for Adam. He saw Adam running down the sidewalk, the hood of his hoodie swaying. Jeff sprinted towards him, stopping to pick up a rock. He threw it with all of his strength and was delighted to see it hit Adam on his head. Adam fell, clutching the place where the rock hit him and Jeff took this time to sprint to Adam's hunched over body.
Jeff grabbed Adam's long hair and pulled it back, he brandished a fork that he'd taken from the diner and put it against Adam's throat. Adam grabbed onto the fork and managed to get a good hold on it. He held it an inch away from his throat, from death. Jeff pushed harder adn the points of the fork got closer. Adam used the last bit of strength he had to push the fork away and bite Jeff's hand. Jeff drew back and let go of Adam's hair.
Adam took the time he'd made for himself to turn around and punched Jeff inthe nose. Jeff grabbed his nose, then punched Adam three times in the stomach. A police car arrived and a cop stepped out. Jeff paid the cop no attention, even when he'd drawn his gun, and thrust the fork towards Adam's throat.
Adam had placed his hand in the way and the fork plunged itself into Adam's open hand. Blood ran down his palm, painting it crimson. The cop shot Jeff once in the arm, forcing him to let go of the fork. Adam screamed and stared at the metal utensil in his hand. Jeff heard the voice in his head once again.
You failed me, Jeffy. Couldn't even do something as simple as kill him.
"I'm sorry! I can try again!"
Too late, Jeff, you failed your mistress.
"I'll kill him! I can do it! Don't leave!"
There was no response. Jeff knew his mistress had left, no longer would he feel her flesh, her soft body. Strangely, he felt freed. He turned to Adam and saw the fork in his hand. Jeff grabbed it and pulled the fork out without mercy. Adam screamed louder. The screams no longer pleased him. He dropped the fork. The cop approached him and placed him in handcuffs. Adam had fallen unconcious from pain and another cop from the same cruiser had called an ambulance. Jeff could see it in the distance. He heard the words of the police officer, but paid them no attention. He watched the paramedics lift Adam into the stretcher, saw the doors close. Jeff cried in cruiser.
