Story
Yet another story on yet another account
Entry 7
They rode, talking casually about this or that, untill late after noon. The forest loomed ahead as the old man drove up to an old farm house.
"This'll be as far as I go." He said, "It'll take ya a couple a days to get through the forest. Best not to spend tonight in there, so why don' you stay in the barn for the night? I can drive ya to the forest in the mornin'."
"I couldn't impose any further." The boy said, swinging down from the high seat to the ground.
"Nonsense. A little thing like you ain't hard to accomidate. It wouldn't feel right, sendin' you off without some rest and supplies."
The boy grinned his wide, mischievious grin, his teeth looking even whiter beneath his tan skin. "Thank you very much sir, but I'd like to get home as fast as I can." The statement took the old man by suprise, and before he could answer the boy had turned and was running like lightning down the dirt rode. Home eh? The old man thought. Like a little forest elf, and with that speed the old man didn't doutb it now. The boy he'd been sitting next to all that day really was a fae. He smiled and followed the dust cloud down the road with his eyes.
"Tricky little things, those faes." He chuckled to himself. "Never can tell when one's right under your nose."
