“Captain, are you sure?” Dojer asked, running up to her friend.
“Aye, my friend, I am very sure indeed.” Capt. Deep replied. “They want to catch us so badly, I say let them come. We’ll discuss their terms involving why they are following us, and then we’ll all be fine and happy.”
“I hope you know what you’re doing.” Dojer said, and she went to help the rest of the crew throw the anchor into the sea.
The merchant ship heaved anchor next to The Gull, and then someone in a long red scarf approached the port side of the merchant ship. “Why, Captain Deep; it’s so nice to see you again!”
Capt. Deep looked into the face of her pursuer, and gasped in amazement. “Nina?”
“That’s right Rina, I’m back, and now I’ve got a score to settle with ye.” Nina snarled.
“How is that, Nina, we left you on an island that is practically invisible to most ships unless you’re looking for it. How can it be that you commandeered a ship and sailed out here?” Capt. Deep smirked.
“A merchant ship was looking for a new place to land their main business export, and our island just so happened to be the one they chose. Fortunately for us we were only on the island for two days only, and then we took over the ship.” Nina boasted. “After pretending to be friendly island natives, we left them on the island in place of us.”
“So you must think you’re pretty clever, eh Nina?” Capt. Deep replied. “But as clever as you are I’ll bet you still can’t fight.”
Nina scowled. “Oh, contraire, I can surely fight you and win anytime I wish.”
“Why don’t you put your sword where your mouth is?” Capt. Deep growled. “You know that’s the only reason you’re here anyway!”
“If you’re so confident, maybe I will send my crew over to your planks to-” Nina snapped, but was interrupted.
“No, not your crew. Just us.” Capt. Deep corrected.
Nina thought about it for a moment. “Intriguing… I accept your little offer, Deep. But on one condition.”
“And what would that be?” Capt. Deep asked.
“When I win, you have to walk the plank, and you must cease pirating.”
