The sun was almost over the horizon, when Capt. Deep’s bird awoke her. Capt. Deep stroked his feathers, and sat up. “Will, it’s time to get up. You get ready in here while I go get Dojer and Charlie.”
Will was still asleep though, and Capt. Deep got up to wake him. She walked across the room, and shook him slightly. He was still reluctant to get up, so she decided to give him a few more minutes to sleep while she awoke the others.
She came out on deck, and saw a ship that looked like it could be sailing towards them. She decided to be ready for the worst, and loaded three guns with shot, and looked through her telescope to try and get a better look at who was coming their way. She saw the flag writhing around the flagpole, and saw the naval symbol being displayed for the world to see. Capt. Deep knew that could only mean one thing: the commodore had found them.
