she wouldn't answer me, i saw

she just got up and left, trust me, i saw,
she left as if she were in a hurry
only years later did i find out she was right, i say
the man was of nothing but artifice
it was only a delusion, a horrible dream, i say
that's left me with a poor excuse of a heart such as this
