::Kari awoke the next morning at dawn, the scent of dew in the chill morning air. The sun was just beginning to peek through the leaves of the Emerald Wood, glistening off the surface of the stream. The half-elf sat up, her clothes in dishabille. She had give up on her shirt during the night. It was rather uncomfortable to sleep in. The black cape hung from her shoulders, rather out of order to match her wild hair. Running a hand through her short, shaggy locks, she stretched and let out a quiet yawn::
*Sane was already up and dressing himself. Putting on his shoes he looks over to see Kari getting up. He smiles and continues to put on his other shoe* Morning Miss Kari... How did you sleep last night? *Sane grins and gets up stretching out his legs and back. He walks over to the river and washes his face gettign his shirt a bit wet as the water ran down his chin*
::Kari smiled down at him from her perch in the tree:: Quite well, my dear Sane. ::Gathering her cloak about her against the brisk air, she jumped down from the tree in one smoothe flowing motion, landing on the ground without a sound. Her eyes were soft, she had slept well. Moving to the edge of the water, she knelt beside him and flashed him a smile before washing her face and taking a small drink::
*Sane looks over at Kari and grins thinking a second before taking a handful of water and splashing Kari with it. Sane laughs and takes a drink from the river bending over as he does.* This water is so good Kari...
Hey! ::After looking down at her now-wet chestcloth and pants, she eyes him slyly as he bends over to drink. Looking away innocently, she stands and 'accidentally' bumps him hard from behind, sending him face-first into the water::
*Sane laughs and pushes Kari playfully trying to throw her into the water* Your so going to go into the water Kari! *Sane laughs as he lundges foward*
::Being an elf, Kari would not lose her balance so easily. She dodged him, jumping to the side, now standing in the river. Her eyes gleamed brightly with joy and excitement. She hadn't had this much fun in a long time:: Come on, Sane! Can't you do better?
*Sane laughs and runs full speed at Kari, he stumbles over a rock and falls flat on his face. He mumbles into the ground.* Owww... That kinda hurt *Sane lifts himself up and smiles lundging at Kari again*
::She laughed at him and wasn't paying attention when he lunged at her a second time. Caught off-guard, Kari fell down into the shallow water with a splash. She sat there in the water, drenched, and eyeing him with a smirk:: I thought I told you? I'm always dangerous! ::She splashed him with both hands to ensure that he got as drenched as she was. Kari laughed happily::
You got me all wet! *Sane jumps in and swims underneath the water coming up next to Kari; laughing he dunks her head in the water and than swims away a bit* Ha! Ha! You look even prettier when your wet! *Sane grins and goes back under teh water surfacing near the shore and sits at the edge taking off his wet shoes.*
::She surfaced and sent him a playful glare before swimming back to the shore and sitting by him. She looked at her drenched pants thoughtfully, then stood and moved to her pack, pulling out a skirt that had slits from the top of the hip to the bottom of the fabric, creating two long pieces of fabric that hung from the front and the back. She looked back to Sane:: No peeking! ::She turned away again and dropped her cloak. The day was warming up rather quickly as the sun cam up. Kari slipped out of her pants and into the dark green skirt with tiny gold details. her feet still bare, she hung her wet clothes up to dry on a branch and returned to Sane's side. Sitting down, she looked at his drenched outfit:: I don't suppose you have a pair of spare pants to wear?
*Sane grins* Why? So you can peek at me while I'm changing? *Sane giggles and winks at Kari.* But to anwser your question... No I do not... I should buy some but I just don't seem to find an intrest in other pants. *Sane giggles* Actually I don't have any money but it's okay. They should dry soon enough... *Sane looks at Kari's skirt and smiles* It looks pretty on you...
::Kari blushed and looked down at her hands:: We should probably get going soon. The sun has come. Day is upon us and we need to make good time today. ::She stood and began getting ready to leave::
*Sane grins and nods getting up and putting on his wet shoes.* You're right we should get going... *Sane grins and giggles.*
::Kari packed her saddle and tacked up her stallion, now fully dressed once more. After smothering the last embers of the previous night's fire, she strapped on her weapons and mounted, ready to go::
*Sane saddles up his horse stroking it's head and than grabbing his stuff next to the tree trunck. He swung his leg over onto the horse and climbed on.* Okay I guess I'm ready... We do have a long way to go you said... so I guess I'm ready... even though I'm all wet the ride should dry me up...
::Kari laughed and they started off once more. As they moved through the woods, the half-elf began to hum. She was in a great mood in such a beautiful place. Incontent with humming, she turned to Sane:: Would you mind if I sang? I much prefer it over humming....
*Sane smiles looking over at Kari and running his hand through his hair. He nods and blinks as a buttefly flies past him.* I was kind of hoping you would... I really enjoy your soothing voice...
::Kari smiled, blushing a bit. Turning back to the road, she began to sing softly. As she sang, her eyes wandered through the woods, taking in every inch of the forest's beauty::
*Sane hugs his horse resting on it. He smiles as a nice breeze blows through the woods. Sane look at Kari and closes his eyes and opening them again listeing to her song which soothed his sould to the core. All his worries left him.*
::Her voice rang out through the trees, sung in Elvish, as was appropriate in their current surroundings. The entire forest seemed to respond to her music. Trees seemed to let in just the right amount of sunlight. Birds fluttered quietly and chimed in every once in a while, matching her voice with flute-like pitches. Animal moved with them from a distance, moving along through the trees. As afternoon came, they crossed another small river that wound across their path. They stopped to rest. Kari dismounted and went to the water, kneeling and getting a drink::
*Sane's horse trots up to the water and Sane get off letting it drink . Sane bends down and takes a sip from the river.* It's so cold... Very good though.
::She looked up to the mountain in the distance upstream, it's shadow peaking through the trees:: This river flows from the mountain... That's why it's so cold... ::She filled up her canteen in the river and pulled out a few strips of jerky, sitting down next to Sane and holding out half of what she had removed:: Here, something to eat...
*Sane looks at Kari... He really didn't want to eat all her food... But slowly his hunger won out adn he took the jerky biting into it and chewing it thoughtfully. He takes out his canteen which was by now emptied and fills it up with water. He smiles as he sees a fish swim by and gets up from the stream and returning to sit by Kari. He plucks a wildflower and tucks it behind Kari's ear... Turning red instantly after he's done this.* I'm... sorry I didn't mean to...
::Kari, also a bit red, turned to him with a sweet smile. Her hand raised to touch the flower he had placed in her hair. After a short moment of hesitation, she closed her eyes and leaned over, kissing him gently on the cheek. She turned away, her face having flushed completely crimson, trying to hide her flaming cheeks::
*Sane's mouth opens in shock. No one has ever done that to him before... No one has been this nice. Sane turns to Kari and smiles touching her cheek with his palm. His eyes soften a bit and he kisses her cheek aswell.* Your beautiful... but I'm sure I said that enough times already...
::Impossible as it seems, her face grows even redder when he kisses her on cheek. Her expression is one of shock for a moment, until she recovers her senses and lowers her eyes to the ground. Turning to him, her cheeks having paled a bit, and with a rather intrigued smirk on her face, she speaks:: Are you courting me, my dear Sane?
*Sane raises an eyebrow. Smiles a bit his face returning to normal.* Courting you? I don't know do you want me to be? I'm just naturaly attracted that's all... *Sane grins and scratches his head.*
::She smiled:: Just a question. ::Kari stood and moved to her horse, closing up the saddlebags and tucking away her newly-filled canteen. She spoke as she did this:: Come on, we should get moving on. The next stream is a few leagues ahead. ::She mounted and started off once more down the path. She didn't sing as she had before::
