Memento Mori
Remember you are mortal, remember you will die.
A Loom Fanfiction - Chaos: Chapter 1
[[For those who haven't played Loom, this is a recap of the story. Though I will take several creative liberties in presenting information.]]

"Lady Cygna Threadbare"

"Destiny shall draw the Lightning
down from Heaven, roll its Thunder
far across the Sea, to where I
wait upon the Shore of Wonder
on the day the sky is Opened
and the tree is split asunder..."

A granite tombstone stood mockingly in the graveyard, a crack reaching from the top right corner down to the bottom. It overshadowed the broken remains of open caskets, their contents empty. The sky swirled in green and black, clouds permanantly effacing the light. However, this is not where the story started..but ended from an era a long time ago...

My identity would be revealed in short time, so please bear with me.

All of this started several months ago around the time I had a son. Around the same time, a prophecy had been made; "the third Shadow shall come in which Chaos shall return to the land."

I was exiled from the weave of the Loom because of the prophecy, ripped from the Tapestry of Reality and forced to the Outside. However, my son still stayed in this world. Perhaps the other Weavers were afraid to exile him as they did me for fear of the Loom's retribution and so they kept him...under close supervision and was never taught the guild's secret of not just how to weave clothing, but to weave the threads of existance themselves...in short, magic.

Sadly, destiny always gets its way where my closest friend Hetchel watched Bobbin, teaching him what those bigoted Elders did not and was summoned to the council for it. She was founded guilty and was sentenced to Transcendence. However, something was off and instead of turning into a swan and cast out of the weave, Hetchel turned into an egg. They started to blame my son for what was the weakening of the Loom and desired to end his life right there.

Luckily, a swan broke through the window of the cathedral from where I came from. In an effort to find out what was truly going on, the Elders themselves followed and never saw my son who was peeking out behind a curtain.

I personally don't recall the rest of the inbetweens, but I assume Hetchell enlightened Bobbin on the use of the distaff, a tool used for weaving, but also for weaving music into threads of magic. I never got a chance to see Bobbin again until something or rather some idiot abruptly tore the barrier between the Outside and Reality. As I recall before Chaos used the threads of Rending on him, I think his name was Bishop Mandible...

And I beleive we need to go...Chaos's Inferi are approaching. Though she cannot cross into our half of the Loom, those reanimated corpses of her can.
